You can get a good starting point for finding keyword phrases by using Google AdWords/Keyword Tool. Try typing in the product name or the ‘range’ of products to begin the research process with.

 

Building A Sentence

Find different ways of building a sentence that people would use to search – ‘Xbox 360 gaming headsets’ and ‘gaming headsets for Xbox 360’.

 

Find Additional Words

To find ‘additional words’ or ‘adjectives’ try using tools like ubersuggest.org – you might find some phrases that you’d not even thought about!

 

‘Buying’ Keywords

Think of ‘buying’ keywords such as ‘where to buy …’, ‘best place to get …’, ‘best deals on …’. All of these phrases are geared towards someone ready to make a purchase.

 

Use Micro-Niche In Competition

If there is too much competition when you get to the research stage consider going more micro-niche by looking at accessories, parts or manuals etc. *You can find some goldmines using this simple little method!*

 

Use Proper Keyword Phrases

Color options, old, new, modern, for, add place etc are all words/phrases to consider in your keywords.

  • Just find your main keyword phrases and then list four or so secondary search terms. Remember, we want to be in the buyers shoes so what will THEY be looking for?

Looking at stats from my most profitable lenses the one thing that stands out are the keywords that get the lenses found. They are tightly focused around the main keyword phrases and don’t deviate too much.

As I observed, one of my lenses that gets a fair amount of traffic from Google each week : found that nearly ALL the keyword phrases are a combination of the main phrase.

Some other stats from one of my very profitable lenses shows that almost all of the keyword phrases that it gets found from are mainly three or four word phrases. These are going to be the most profitable keywords that you use.

Someone searching Google for ‘music player’ is just browsing and looking at what’s about. Whereas someone who searches for ‘best music players for five year olds’ is looking for something specific – these people are buyers.
