Samsung Galaxy S6 Active: Find out all about the smartphone now

Move over Apple as Samsung is preparing for yet another revolutionary smartphone release, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. This 2015 Samsung is unstoppable. The company wowed us with the release of this phone and S6 Edge. Both these devices are absolutely mind-blowing.

This phone has not yet been released, but rumor has it that Samsung will launch it this summer. Here’s what we know so far about the new device.

Resemblance to the S6

Even though we adore Samsung’s latest Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, we miss the water-resistance, cool feature present in the S5. Fortunately, the tech guru is planning to introduce this phone pretty soon.

The new device is rumoured to have the same looks as the Samsung Galaxy S6, but it will be waterproof. According to SamMobile, this phone will have the same technical and specs as the Samsung Galaxy S6.

The display will be 5.1 inches Quad HD, and Exynos 7420 processor will be powered this phone , together with a 3 GB RAM. In terms of storage, this phone will likely start from 32 GB and might feature a MicroSD card.

Garshol, European Redditor, allegedly met with a representative of Samsung in Europe. Garshol exposed several important details on the Galaxy S6 Active.

Apparently, the new smartphone won’t have some feature currently available in the Samsung Galaxy S6, such as heart rate monitor and fingerprint sensor.

There will be a MicroSD card slot available, similar specs to Samsung Galaxy S6’s dual glass panel, as well as a bigger battery. The current Samsung Galaxy S6 doesn’t have a MicroDS card slot.

Samsung removed it to make the device set itself apart from the competition. Including a card slot in the Samsung Galaxy S6 would have affected its current design.

Rugged design & powerful camera

The alleged Galaxy S6 Active may have a 16-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera in the front. In terms of real changes, it looks like Samsung is thinking of making this phone more durable. The new smartphone will have the following measurements: 73.6×146.9×8.8mm.

Featuring a bulkier size than the Samsung Galaxy S6, it will also go through a boost in battery life – 3500mAh. By comparison, Apple has never had its iPhones feature microSDs. User had to rely entirely on integrated flash storage that was non-expandable.

The rumours about the specs of the new Galaxy S6 Active don’t end here. Apparently, the tech company may include a removable battery, feature that is currently missing from Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

According to SamMobile, Samsung has struck a deal with AT&T to sell this phone exclusively. As for the price and release date, Samsung hasn’t made any official announcements.

In spite of the limited information we know about this phone, the data we know so far is enough to make us want to know more.

Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge or S6 Active?

Although this phone has not yet been released, we can at least guess how it will look like. A 5.1 inch screen is exactly what we need for excellent browsing, social media navigation, and gaming.

While the bulkier design will probably make this phone appear more masculine and rugged. Regardless, we do appreciate the fact that Samsung is a competitive brand. Apparently, they want to make it waterproof, and thus be able to compete with other smartphones on the market.

Until Samsung makes it official, we can only assume that Galaxy S6 Active exists. Now that some information has been leaked. The company still has plenty of time to make changes and come up with a new device can truly exceed all our expectations.
