How New iPhone 5 Differs From The iPhone 4S
Sapphire Crystal Lens
The iPhone 5 has a Sapphire crystal lens, which should provide better image quality than the iPhone 4S because it allows in more light. In side-by-side picture tests, the difference may only seem to be a shade or two, but there is definitely a slight improvement.
Panorama mode
Other more obvious improvements is the addition of panorama mode. App guides you to take amazing 360 degree pictures as well as a higher quality low light mode. It has ability to take pictures 40% faster than the iPhone 4S.
You will really feel the difference here, as you will able to keep snapping away, without really pausing.
Video
The biggest change between the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5 is, when it comes to video is that you can now take pictures while recording. The video camera captures 30 frames per second at 1080p and Face detection feature is added in iPhone 5.
FaceTime Camera
The iPhone 4S is having VGA-resolution FaceTime camera for both photos and video. While iPhone 5 forward facing camera (Face Time Camera) has been improved and is now 1.2MP for photos and 720p HD for video. Backside illumination sensor added which is not there in iPhone 4S.
This will be important to you if you take self-portraits or maybe video yourself for social networking purposes, facetime calling will be much sharper too
Connecting port
One of the other biggest changes with the iPhone 5 is the connecting port. The iPhone 4S is having 30 pin connector, while iPhone 5 is with an 8 pin Lightning connector which is too much smaller, which makes overall phone look thinner. So that you can connect the cable any way; think about those moments that you’re fumbling around in low light trying to connect your charger.
Lightning connector is not compatible with any of your existing accessories, but a converter is available now. You can connect your current 30pin connector to iPhone 5 using adapter as show in image and for that you have to pay some extra money, around $29 to $30(Prices may vary).
But don’t worry, this connector you can be use for other iDevices like iPod touch 5th generation, iPod nano 7th generation, iPad 4th generation, iPad mini (Then it is worth it right?)
