Whether that means O2 will be getting the delivery of the first HTC One X devices, or whether that is when users will be able to get their hands on one, remains to be seen.
However it means that the first quad-core device could be in the hands of consumers within weeks, signalling the real start of a new smartphone revolution.

HTC One X Processor – Quad-Core Processor
Inevitably it is the quad-core processor that will attract users the most. It means it is faster to use; launching applications, browsing Android’s features as well as the internet. There will be virtually no lag.
If the HTC One X is heading our way in a fortnight then it will be the first quad core phone many will get to play with to see the difference. Of course, HTC isn’t the only manufacturer with a quad-core. LG, Huawei and, if the rumours are to be believed about the upcoming Galaxy S3, Samsung are all about to join the quad-core party.
Quad-Core Processors
For some Smartphone shoppers quad-core is going to be “so what?” We saw last year with the launch of the Galaxy S2 and the dual-core processor how the smartphone market can rapidly start to look more akin to an arms race as new devices look set to out-do each other with technical specifications.
2012 does not look to be any different as quad-cores start to be unveiled. It goes without saying that not every quad-core is going to be the same. Just because a device had a dual-core processor didn’t mean it was the best smartphone on the market, or better than its predecessors – the LG Optimus 2X is a shining example of this. Instead, it is how all the elements work together as a whole.
HTC One X Summary
The HTC One X has people excited because it seems to all work well together rather than just relying on its processor to impress. It’s being touted against the Xperia S, which has a dual-core processor, because that too is a device that fits well within itself and just works. A quad-core might be faster but it won’t hide a clunky interface or set-up that isn’t intuitive and lags or compensate for a poor camera.
Once we get over the speed it will be an opportunity for us to be able to play with a quad-core device and actually get an idea of how it works as a smartphone, instead of just focusing on the processor.
It is unlikely that 2013 will see the release of Octocore processors on Smartphones, so perhaps we can start to see some competition on great features to use all of this processing power with. So what do you say about HTC One X?
